About Uchiko Miami Beach

Uchiko, child of Uchi, is the offspring of James Beard Award‑winning Chef Tyson Cole's original non‑traditional Japanese concept. While the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Uchiko takes a fiery turn bringing smoke and char alongside the fresh and clean flavors that define Uchi.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Our first time at Uchiko and had a wonderful experience with Alex! We had been to the Uchi in Wynwood before but never this Uchi concept so Alex too great care to walk us through his favorites on the menu and explain the differences with the concept. He made some great recommendations and was clearly very passionate about the food! Of course, can never go wrong with the Hama Chili. The Suzuki Japanese bass nigiri, Brussels sprouts and chicken sum tom were also standouts. We noticed we were only 30 min away from their late night happy hour and Alex was very nice to bring us a happy hour menu to browse, also made recommendations from this menu and let us linger a bit. From the happy hour, the ceviche hand roll is so tasty. The sake crudo was also fantastic and a great way to end our meal with something refreshing and a bit sweet. A standout of both Uchi locations is the amazing service - our empty plates get picked up right away, detailed explanations of each dish are shared with each presentation - really great team. Thank you Alex and the whole team for the amazing experience!

They anticipated needs before we even had to ask, maintained a positive and welcoming attitude throughout, and handled everything with efficiency and grace. It’s rare to encounter a team that consistently demonstrates such a high standard of hospitality. Tommy, Robby, and Gabby are tremendous assets to this establishment and represent the kind of employees any manager would be proud to have. Their dedication to creating an outstanding guest experience did not go unnoticed, and they are a major reason we look forward to returning. Food was out of this world, the best sushi I have ever had! Jolie’s service was phenomenal, she even sent us a few of her favorites. We will never stop talking about this place and are excited to come back!

Uchiko Miami Beach is an outstanding addition to the Sunset Harbor dining scene. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, creating an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere that fits perfectly with the neighborhood vibe. The nigiri was exceptional, fresh, clean, and expertly prepared with balanced flavors that let the quality of the fish shine. Every bite felt intentional and refined. If you’ve been to Uchi in Wynwood, the menu will feel very familiar, which is a great thing. Miami now has two excellent locations to enjoy this level of Japanese cuisine. Whether you are closer to the beach or the mainland, you have access to truly incredible sushi. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top tier Japanese food in Miami.

Amazing!! Highly recommend. The staff here are all wonderful! Our server Wesley and our sushi chef Mango were absolutely extraordinary. Above and beyond to service and detail. The food was so fresh with incredible flavors. Also, Happy Hour is available in the entire restaurant from 5-6:30. Recommend sitting at the sushi bar for an amazing experience with the chefs. Can’t wait to come back!
